Cook County Board President
The President of Cook County is the Chief Executive Officer of Cook County. The President oversees the offices under the President and is charged with presenting a balanced budget to the Board of Commissioners.
Cook County Treasurer
The Cook County Treasurer is responsible for collecting property taxes and distributing the money to local governments and public services like schools, cities, parks, and libraries. The Treasurer sends out tax bills, processes payments, keeps records, and handles late or unpaid taxes.
Cook County Commisioners
The County Commissioners are elected officials who oversee county activities and work to ensure that citizen concerns are met, federal and state requirements are fulfilled, and county operations run smoothly.
Cook County Sheriff
The Cook County Sheriff is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer. Under the Illinois State Constitution, the Sheriff is responsible for providing services and security to county and court facilities, administering the Cook County Jail, and protecting and serving the citizens of Cook County.
Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner
The Board of Commissioners, consisting of 9 members, is responsible for establishing policies and procedures which meet The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago’s objective of protecting the water environment for the citizens of Cook County. Voters will choose no more than 3 Commissioners for a full 6-year term, and one commissioner for an unexpired 2-year term.

County Clerk
Maintaining and providing vital records, real estate tax process, public economic interest statements, lobbyist registration, and serves as Clerk to the Board of Commissioners.
